EARTH PLEXUS TELEVISION [1988-1991]		 Earth Plexus Television [EPTV] 1988-1991

In college I founded Earth Plexus—a student network designed to create and promote new modes of communication between GenX students in the US and USSR. (see Backstory) Once I arrived in Los Angeles, I produced and hosted 30+ hours of newscast format programming with Quincy Newell (Now Executive VP/GM of Codeblack Entertainment). We covered issues important to GenX students in thirteen countries across four continents. EPTV was simulcast at Brown University and other participating schools as well as public and college radio stations. Some programs are still on file at The Institute for Humane Studies at George Mason University.

Streams of Consciousness: 1997 Produced a pilot for the Digital Entertainment Network (DEN)—the first network exclusively for broadband distribution—like Unearthed, SoC focused on leading researchers in the neuroconsciousness field.

THE STORY
It’s October 2011 and Dr. Emit Archer—archeologist and host of the popular web series "Unearthed" has been offline for more than a year since the death of his wife and daughter in a fatal accident. His producer, Siméon Baaleth sends him to authenticate and build an episode around an artifact that could make the return of the show an historic event.

A mysterious Hopi Shaman claims he holds the 400-year-old Morion (helmet) of Hernán Cortés himself and believes that the global unveiling of this artifact on Unearthed will fulfill and ancient prophetic benchmark and usher in their Fifth World.

Archer leaves behind his son, his mandated grief counseling and a planet of denial on a journey into the high desert of Northern New Mexico and a valley of deception and greed that stretches across the centuries and the Americas.

 

THE BACKSTORY
As a boy growing up in New Mexico, I was fascinated with the Puebloan Peoples' history—especially their Kachina Religion. We would attend Kachina Dances at The Acoma Pueblo (Sky City) and I would collect Kachina Dolls which, to me, were like spiritual superheroes. I also recall how Hopi symbols (Rain Clouds, Thunderbirds, etc.) were used to identify parking lot sections at the mall and even at a very young age, it seemed to me a sacrilege.

In school, a large part of our history lessons dealt with the Spanish Conquistadors. Looking back now, there was far too little taught about the Native Americans of the region. Instead we were told stories of Cortés and Coronado who, by the way, was honored with a shopping mall bearing his name.

Within the past few years I've become more and more intrigued with the Mayan Civilization as many have with only a few years to go before the end of their cosmic calendar. So when I decided to do something creative and personal—apart from TV spots and sales videos—this story just flowed forth as a grand collection of the things I'm most interested in right now.
